I'm not even going to reply to Salome. One scam to be careful of that I've run into a lot is sending money to "yourself". These scammers will ask you to go to Western Union with a friend, then have your friend send money to you so you can pick it up once you arrive. The scammers then ask for a copy of the receipt as proof of "intent to pay", that you actually have the money. DON'T DO IT! As soon as you send that receipt, they'll make up a fake ID and pick up the money, pretending to be you. Most Western Union workers probably don't know how to spot a fake foreign ID so even a bad fake will do. NEVER SEND MONEY IN ADVANCE. HANDLE ALL TRANSACTIONS IN PERSON. Even then, be careful. Scammers can rent a room for a few days, then pass it off as their own, asking for a deposit to rent to you. If dealing with a rental agency, ask to visit their office.
